Amber Romero is an actor, martial artist, dancer, and model, born and raised in San Diego, CA. She is the only child of parents Rachelle and Armando Romero. On her 15th birthday, Amber and her family moved from San Diego to Los Angeles so that she could further pursue her dream to be an actor; a dream that started at the tender age of 3.

Amber began her career in musical theater, dance (ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, modern, and Spanish dancing) and modeling. She has walked the runway and modeled for retail stores such as Macy’s, Nordstrom, JC Penney, and Children’s Place. She has also been a special events model at charity functions. Amber was one of the first ever child models for Fashion Career College in San Diego.

In addition to being a dancer, she is also a competitive figure skater, and has earned 2 black belts in traditional Tae Kwon Do and Extreme Martial Arts. She has been training in stunts/action choreography since the age of 15. Amber is best known for her role as a series regular in the web series Clique Wars where she played the role of Molly. She has appeared as a lead in the films CAZADORA and Shattered.

When Amber is not busy in acting, school, and martial arts, she loves to give back to the community. She volunteers at various places such as Big Sunday, Magic Penny, LA Mission, and the Ronald McDonald’s House.

Editor’s Note: Fun Fact – Cazadora means huntress in Spanish/Español.

Hi, Amber! What an extraordinary career you have! It is a pleasure to speak with you. Thank you for granting the interview. We know you just wrapped shooting a film called “Cazadora” and you can’t share much. Tell us more about the film’s premise plus your character and role.

“Cazadora” is about a girl, Cazadora, and her father who get kidnapped and she has to fight her way through some really big bads to get them out. I play Cazadora and she’s this sassy, but smart girl who gets turned into a superhero. I absolutely loved getting to play her because not only is she funny, but she kicks some serious butt! I got to do all of my own stunts, which included climbing on top of someone and flipping them over!! I’m super excited about this project overall because it just got accepted into 5 different Comicons, been nominated for Best US Short Film, and I won Best Lead Actress for it.

You’re best known for your role in the web series called “Clique Wars.” Tell us more.

For “Clique Wars”, the series takes place at a school where these cliques are all battling to see who is the best. I play Molly and she’s part of the troublemaker’s clique. She loves to pull all sorts of pranks on the other cliques, but she goes through some crazy character development later on… Molly was super fun to play because she had this huge bully persona to her, which is pretty different from me, so it was fun to explore that

You also had several lead roles in major productions, such as “Shattered”, “Lemon Drop”, “Lucia, Before and After”, and the “Breakout: A Rock Opera”. Impressive! What do you enjoy most about playing a lead character?

Playing a lead character is super exciting, but it’s also a lot of hard work. It’s really easy to get overwhelmed by everything, but as long as you keep in mind that this is still a job (an amazing job!), everything works out. Being a lead is even greater and more fun when you have a strong support system around you.

You’re also a voice-over artist known for your role on DISNEY XD’S FUTURE-WORM. Tell us more about the series.

It was absolutely amazing to be on Future-Worm! Disney has such a great space for voice actors that are super creative and fun so it was an absolute pleasure working there. My character’s name is Zoe and she’s a babysitter who just has fun with all of the wacky stuff they have going on in that show.

What do you enjoy most about acting?

You know how when you were a kid and there were so many things you wanted to be? You wanted to be a firefighter or an astronaut or just something awesome. Well, with acting, you can be all of those things and more so you never really get to miss out on anything.

If you could play any role what would it be and why?

I love playing characters that are tough, funny, and can get the job done. If a character like that comes my way, you can be sure I’m going to have the time of my life playing them.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I am a super nerd so anything involving sci-fi, fantasy, or reading, I love it. I’m the type of person who could spend all day talking about every episode of Doctor Who.

If you could star in the next Marvel or DC movie, what superhero would you like to play and why?

I would love to be Wonder Woman! The recent Wonder Woman movie got me so pumped up, I felt like I could do anything and it would be amazing if I could make other people feel like that too.

Are there any projects you would like to add that we haven’t mentioned?

I play a lead character named Dorothy in a new TV pilot called Should I Do It?. She’s super nerdy, which is a fun difference from the characters I normally play. The show follows a group of teenagers in different situations and they all end up having to face a choice. I had the best time on this set and we all basically became like family.

Complete this sentence, if I had an opportunity to do anything I want, I would do ___________.

If I had an opportunity to do anything I want, I would create an organization that allowed all creative people who have the passion to make something get together and make whatever they’re passionate about. There’s so much talent here in LA and a lot of it isn’t being used so I think that should definitely change.
