Now in its 40th year, Jazz at the Lake is one of the Northeast’s premier jazz festivals. Set against the backdrop of beautiful Lake George, Jazz at the Lake (Lake George Jazz Weekend) celebrates the vibrant and diverse genre of jazz and brings together talented musicians from around the country including Nicole Zuraitis, John Patitucci and Ben Wendel.

Jazz at the Lake, which started in 1984, has grown in popularity and received critical acclaim. The festival attracts 5000-7000 attendees to the Lake George region during the off-season and is the largest free cultural event in Lake George. The festival features 17 performances by a diverse range of artists representing various jazz styles. Eight performances take place on the stage in Shepard Park (Lake George) and nine performances occur at partner locations throughout the Town and Village. In recent years, the festival has expanded from a two-day program with 7 performances to a three-day event aimed at promoting the arts, artists, local businesses, and the community.

Free music festivals are disappearing but The Lake George Arts Project is committed to keeping our festival free and available to all. Created with a mission of providing income opportunities for artists and presenting high-quality arts programming for the region in mind, Jazz at the Lake promotes artistic expression, creates enriching cultural experiences, and supports artists and our local economy.

Much gratitude is given to Kenneth and Susan Gruskin, and Gruskin Creative for their years of generous support and dedication to this vital program. Jazz on the Lake is also thankful to the Town of Lake George, the Village of Lake George, the New York State Council on the Arts, Anonymous, and generous members and supporters for supporting this year’s event.

The event is from Friday – Sunday, September 13-15, 2024. For further information on the initiative and this year’s event,  please visit the  official website https://lakegeorgearts.org/lake-george-jazz-weekend/
