Occhi featured visual artist Kamila CK presents an interdisciplinary solo performance featuring live painting, aerial dance, and moving images.
This work celebrates the life force that supports and propels us, using the shape of the circle as a representation of the invisible, infinite energy that permeates through existence. It reflects the cyclical nature of life, from sunrise to sunset, birth to death, and the interplay between conscious and subconscious, across all time and space.
The performance will integrate live Japanese Enso painting, a spiritual practice where the artist creates a work in one fluid stroke and with no corrections. This practice captures the energy of the moment and makes invisible synchronicities visible. The Enso symbolizes the circle of life and the interconnectedness of existence. The painting will be large-scale, corresponding to the human body and the aerial hoop. Furthermore, this performance, part of The Camden Fringe 2024, will explore the duality at play, encompassing themes of higher and lower, light and shadow, microcosm and macrocosm, as well as our sense of connection to oneself, others, and the world, juxtaposed with our sense of separation.
The artwork will remain on stage as an art installation for the audience to view up close after the performance. The event takes place this Sunday 18 August at 5:00pm.
