Welsh singer/songwriter John Adams kicks off 2020 with the release of his new single ‘Kiss Every Stranger’. This new song is a unique blend of his heartfelt songwriting and pop beats with minimal electronic production. ‘Kiss Every Stranger’ is a well-composed, straightforward approach to songwriting, smoothly delivering a well-worn theme of love and togetherness.
The track questions the idea of ‘finding the one’ in romantic relationships: ‘It’s easy to find what you’re looking for if you know what it looks like, but what if you have no idea?’ John says about the track.
With a tone and delivery comparable to Sam Smith and James Blunt, Adams draws influences from the likes of James Morrison, Damien Rice, and David Gray. He has spent a considerable period of his adulthood as a songwriter playing gigs in venues across the UK. This includes busking on the streets of Cardiff before taking a leap of faith in 2016, quitting his job as a Maths teacher to perform full time. Fortunately, his gamble paid off. John has supported acts such as Take That, Lemar, Stooshe, T’Pau, and Katherine Jenkins.
His hard work and impressive live performances have resulted in 50,000 online followers, over 6 million views on YouTube and a steady 500,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. John released his album “You Never Know Who’s Listening” in 2018. The album was very well received by fans and the music industry alike and has already accrued over 8 million plays on Spotify. All 4 singles were on the playlist of BBC and Spotify editorials with “See You Again” and “Dandelion Wishes” becoming BBC Radio 2 favorites. He spent the year up and down the country performing at the UK’s largest festivals such as The Isle of Wight Festival, Great Escape, and Victorious Festival. To end the year on a high, his festive hit “Lost In Christmas” became the soundtrack for the “La Feltrinelli” Christmas campaign all across Europe.
‘Kiss Every Stranger’ is now available on all digital platforms. A lyric video will be released on Feb 3rd as well as an official music video directed by Rhys Davies from Furball Films on Feb 13th.
