Lulu Lambros

Lulu is a native L.A. girl, born in Santa Monica, California. From the time she could walk, Lulu could be found singing and dancing on any stage in sight- real or makeshift. By age four Lulu was performing at various local community theaters in children’s productions. Lulu performed on stage through age nine, starring in Annie, Mary Poppins, Peter Pan, Jungle Book and other original productions. Lulu also completed five seasons studying and performing Shakespeare at The Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum. At nine years old, while performing in a showcase produced by her acting academy, Lulu was scouted by talent agents and was signed within days.

Lulu’s television credits include national commercials, extensive work for AwesomenessTV and DreamworksTV, guest starring roles on Nickelodeon’s sketch comedy show AwesomenessTV and Nick Jr.’s Mutt & Stuff. Most recently, Lulu can be seen in the recurring role of Ellie Peters on Disney Channel’s Stuck in the Middle, now in its second season. When not working, Lulu tries to get to dance class or pick up her guitar as often as possible, and enjoys spending her free time with her friends, mom and dad and three dogs.

Check out the interview below.

Hi, Lulu! Congratulations on your role as Ellie in Disney’s series Stuck in the Middle. Tell us about your character.

Wow, thank you! It’s been an incredible experience being a Disney kid. Stuck in the Middle has been so embraced by fans, and they have been amazing to me- the fans love Ellie as much as I do. The writers have created such a likable character; it’s hard not to root for her. Ellie is the super eager, sweet and innocent, but hilariously funny BFF and neighbor of Harley Diaz (Jenna Ortega). Ellie is Harley’s biggest fan and honorary Diaz. It’s hysterical to see her constantly trying her best to escape her over-protective mom so she can be part of the crazy, chaotic fun at the Diaz house.

You recently won Best Recurring Teen Actress at the 38th Annual Young Artist Awards. That’s awesome! Tell us about the award show.

Yes, can you believe it? I was happy and proud just to be nominated. And when I won, wow! It’s the best feeling I can think of to be acknowledged for something that you work hard for, have so much passion for and that brings you so much joy. It sounds cheesy, but acting really is my happy place. When they called my name and I made my acceptance speech, I was so deliriously happy that I could hardly contain myself. I was so excited that I forgot to thank my grandmother, who was in the audience supporting me. Sorry, Yia Yia! I’m so grateful for this experience.

You have starred in many television series. What have been some of your favorite appearances?

I did a ton of sketch comedy for DreamworksTV and AwesomenessTV. Sketch comedy is always fun because you can really let loose and use your improv skills, which I love. I took a lot of comedy improv classes early on, which gave me the confidence to go into auditions fearless and ready for anything.
Another favorite was a guest starring role on Nickelodeon’s Mutt & Stuff, a fun show about a school for dogs for preschoolers. Where else can you have dogs, real and giant puppets, for cast mates?

Is there a role you would like to play one day?

I’m not sure if there is a specific role I dream of playing because sometimes you never really know a character until you work through it and discover how YOU and the character will become one. Every actor will play the same character differently because every actor is unique.
Developing the character is my favorite part of the process, and if you get the part you now have a whole creative team working with you to bring the character to life. The people I’ve worked with have always been the best part of my set experiences. Any opportunity to work is an opportunity to learn!

Thus far, what has been the best experience working in the entertainment industry?

I would say Stuck in the Middle, not only because I absolutely love my character of Ellie, but because it’s been an ongoing learning experience. The longer you work at something and focus your energy, the more you get out of it. Creating something with others is such a bonding experience. I get very attached- I generally never want a project I’m working on to end! I’ve loved every set experience for different reasons, and the people make the experience. I always feel like I’ve made new friends. I hope they feel the same about me.

Do you have any upcoming projects that we haven’t mentioned?

There are always a few projects I would love to be a part of. Auditions are happening all the time, but I don’t want to jinx anything! I can talk about some of my favorite charitable causes though. I just became an Ambassador for FREE2LUV to bring awareness to anti-bullying and help educate those who struggle with spreading kindness and love. Also, any organization that protects animals can count me as a supporter. I have three dogs and I would have 10 more pets if I could. Mom, Dad?

Complete this sentence; if I had an opportunity to do anything, I would do_____.

Too many things! Not surprisingly, as an actor, I would love to have the opportunity to work with the greatest actors and directors all over the world. Of course, high school and college are definitely in my future plans! I admire young actors who have made education a priority. But most of all, my grand goal is to be a good person- a person that family and friends can count on, and an actor that people want to work with again.
