Mandy was born in Hollywood, Florida. She started training at the young age of 6-years old in baby ballet. She was singing in her room to a Britney Spears song, when her parents were first alerted that she was an incredible singer. Just like every other young girl, she sang into a hairbrush in her room, and preformed for her teddy bears, little did she know one day, those teddy bears would be real people, and her bedroom would become a stage.
Her family was relocated to California for her father, actor and comedian, Mark Moseley’s career, but in the process she fell into being a performer. She has always naturally been a singer, although she has trained with the incredible, Valerie Moorehouse for over 8-years. She has been seriously dancing since she was about 12-years old and only started acting when she was brought onto Nickelodeon. She is heavily involved in helping the homeless, and dog shelters as well, as she is a huge pet person! Our writer had an opportunity to chat with Mandy about her blossoming career!
Your singing career started with Nickelodeon, and now you’re a rising solo artist. What has the journey been like?
Working with the girl group was amazing! From touring China, to filming movies for Nickelodeon it was amazing. I went solo about 2/3 years ago and it was an amazing choice. I love being able to express myself through my music and career and I can totally do that as a soloist.
Recording can be stressful. What do you like to do to unwind?
My favorite thing to do is swim and spend time with my family. I love any moment I get to relax and kick back because my life is go, go, go all the time! I love spending time with my family, friends and my three amazing dogs!
Do you miss being a part of a singing group?
Yes and no. I miss the experience of being able to tour with people, and constantly having a team to fall back on, but with being solo, there’s an independence and strength in that.
With your singing career taking off, have you considered a return to acting?
Yes, of course! Filming the show, and movies was unreal. So fun being on set all the time; the environment is so amazing. If the right opportunity presented itself, I would totally be into acting again.
What has been some of your best experiences in the industry?
Touring for sure. I’ve got to work with Quincy Jones, Mariah Carey, and some of the worlds legends, but touring was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. Being able to meet the people who supported me, and show them the same love and devotion they showed me everyday was crazy.
If there was anything you could do over again, what would it be and why?
I wouldn’t re-do anything actually. Everything I’ve released, experienced, and done has shaped me into the person I am today, so I wouldn’t change anything. Maybe re-live some moments!
You enjoy interacting with fans. You use your social media to stay in touch. Tell us how social media is important to an artist’s career.
I recently launched my Mandy Rain APP in the APP Store, which is really cool because I’m able to give my biggest fan a deeper look into my life. Giving them a little bit of me that all the other social media isn’t getting is pretty cool!
Currently, you are sending exclusive content to your fans. What inspired this idea?
I had an APP company approach me, and tell me I could give the people who support me exclusive content, and be able to communicate with them more directly then just a tweet, or an Instagram post. I was in LOVE! I get to do contests, and exclusive posts, it’s great.
Thus far, music is your main focus. Tell us about your latest projects.
I’ve been in the studio daily working on my re music and a next sound for my fans. I’m growing as a person and artist, and working on what part of me I want to share next.
What do you like to do between productions?
Training and running stuff regarding business. I always stay busy! But when I’m not doing those things, I’m hanging with my family!
