Hi, Gary! It is such a pleasure to meet you. You’re currently starring in a new show called Psychosis. IMDB describes it as “Eight strangers. One past. Different futures.” That is cryptic, so we have to ask about your role in the show.
It is a pleasure speaking with you, and I thank you for interviewing me. Yes, Psychosis, such a fantastic story line behind it, and I look forward to begin filming in NYC in June. My character Brian is an Irish casting director in the show, which is quite interesting for me as I’m the one usually standing in front of the casting directors. So, having this experience is going to be great. My other role in the show is that I am also the Execuitive Producer for the show.
You’re in pre-production of the short film Desperation. You play Jack. Tell us how you joined the project.
Yes, Desperation is one of my own. After working on and creating the short film, 2Late, I wanted to continue to create films as I did enjoy it. I usually tell myself, if I can’t get work I make work..
Great attitude! You also have another film that was just announced called Violent Love. We love the story line. According to IMBD, “it shows the story of Emily and Devin as they correspond over a dating site. But Devin isn’t actually who he says he is.” Thank you for making this film! It is a subject that needs to be addressed. What inspired you to make it?
Yes, Violent Love is another one of my own. I love creating and working on material that raises awareness. I believe a lot of things need to be addressed, and that’s why I enjoy being creative and creating those films because it hits home to a lot of people.
People do not realize that dangers of online dating, and seem to let their guard down based on the person’s appearance. What are your thoughts on this?
After watching the show, Catfish on MTV, it actually makes sense not to trust people. That’s why I fully disagree with online dating. Don’t get me wrong. It’s awesome, but WOW, it’s scary because you don’t actually know the person.
Catfish on MTV is one of our favorite shows! OK, moving on, 2017 is a busy year for you! That is awesome! Let’s talk Angus Brothers. It’s in pre-production, so we know you can’t say much. Tell us the about story line, and what motivated you to tell this story.
The Angus Brothers is going to be an Irish comedy, like the Columbia Pictures film. Step Brothers, with Will Ferrell and Adam McKay starring in it. It tells the story of two brothers on how they grew up. It features a lot of Irish comedy slang that a lot of people will not get, and that’s why I believe it will be funny for the rest of the world that watches it.
We noticed you’re doing more production work. Is this a passion you always wanted to pursue?
Yes, I enjoy working as an actor on productions. Acting is the main thing and then producing, also. I love helping out on projects that need the producer’s intake. Having experience in producing and filmmaking field, I think I can add something special to each project I work on.
You continuously hone your craft. What keeps you inspired?
My motivation is my family, friends and God. They all keep pushing me to continue to do great things, whether it be raising awareness in a creative way or travelling the world working on projects.
Thus far, what has been the best experience working in the industry?
I have to say that probably one of the best experiences I have had is working with other people around the world that I’ve never worked with before. Getting to know them as a person is just awesome.
Do you have any upcoming projects that we haven’t mentioned?
Yes, there is one. I got approached a few months ago by a filmmaker in Ireland that watched the film Love Bites I was in. He asked me to play the role of James in his sequel to his film Conclusions called Ashes. I actually look forward to working on it, as one of the actresses that is in Ashes worked on Love Bites with me, also.
Complete this sentence, if I had the opportunity to do anything I would want to ____________.
. . . remove all of the negativity in the world, stop bullying and all the hate that goes on. I have a few goals in life: become a successful Hollywood actor, work on a project with Johnny Depp, and to be interviewed on The Ellen Show.
