***Gabrielle Stone WINS BEST ACTRESS for It Happened Again Last Night at Pasadena International Film Festival.***
Hi, Gabrielle! Congrats on winning Best Actress for It Happened Again Last Night at the Pasadena International Film Festival.
Thank you! The Pasadena International Film Festival was an absolutely wonderful experience for us. The film was so well received and it was an honor just to be nominated. Winning best actress was icing on the cake! Paige was such an intense character for me to play so being rewarded for that was wonderful. We’ve screened at two festivals so far and won awards at each. We just took home the best drawn the short at the North Hollywood CineFest.

In the age of sexual neutrality, do you feel this film is an integral part to the movement of #lovewins?
Absolutely. I get asked all the time what made me want to make this film and I always have the same answer. Too often in cinema we see ‘the gay couple’ or ‘the lesbian couple’. I wanted to portray a relationship of two human beings, no matter what their sexual orientation or gender, that happened to fall in love. It’s a simple as that, because in today’s day and age no one should be categorized or told who to love.
You also co-wrote, co-produced, and co-directed It Happened Again Last Night, with Roze. Tell us about the collaboration. How did Roze contribute?
Roze and I originally met filming his feature film Speak No Evil. I took my original story to him and from there we partnered and went through a long process of rewrites to find what we really wanted to say with the film. Everything from the beginning has been a collaboration between the two of us. Almost everyone that came on board was skeptical of working with co-directors, I’m happy to say we proved everyone wrong.
When you’re acting, tell us what experiences you draw on to play a role.
I feel that I have a very deep emotional well to pull from. I definitely use different experiences in my past and hardships that I have gone through. However, sometimes it’s as simple as connecting with the person you’re acting with. It all depends on the type of project and character I’m playing.
Q5.You have worked in film and stage for several years. We know you can’t pick a favorite, so tell us about your favorite roles, instead.
This is a ridiculously tough question! There are so many different reasons why different roles stand out for me. Speak No Evil will always have a special place in my heart because it was the first film I was the full leading role in. Zombie Killers was such a joyous experience for me and I met some of my dearest friends on that production. But if I had to pick my most memorable to date, it would be a festival drama I have coming out later this year called Swell. I don’t think I’ve ever gone through more emotions, highs, and lows on one films set. It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my career and I cannot wait for people to see the finished product.
Is there a particular role you would like to be cast in the future?
I got to do two comedies last year and had an absolute blast on both of them. So, I definitely would like to do some more of that. As far as a particular role, I would love to take on the challenge of playing someone with multiple personalities.
Thus far, what has been the best experience working in the industry?
I’ve honestly been very lucky in my career thus far. I’ve met some of my dearest friends on sets that I’ve worked on and had some wonderful experiences. They say it’s not always often a cast and crew come together for a wonderful experience but I have been lucky and have many of those.
What do you like to do between productions?
To be honest I’m happiest when I’m working! But on my downtime, I’m spending time with my husband (I got married a year and a half ago), and hanging with friends and family.
Do you have any upcoming projects that you would like to share?
What can we expect from you in the near future?
This year I have three films set for release.
– Rock Paper Dead, a horror film directed by Tom Holland (Child’s Play, Fright Night). Starring Luke Macfarlane, Michael Madsen, Tatum O’Neal, & Maureen McCormick.

–Swell, a festival drama directed by Justin Lee. Starring Summer Spiro & myself. I cannot wait for people to see this film. It’s absolutely incredible.
-The Competition, a comedy directed by Harvey Lowry. Starring Chris Klein, and Thora Birch. I had such a blast on this film. It’s hysterical, due out later this year.

Q10. Complete this sentence, if I could write a story about anything, it would be_________.
If I could write a story about anything it would be my mother. To take on the task of trying to make people comprehend what an absolutely incredible human being she is. Her story is incredible, and I am so lucky to be her daughter. Our bond is unlike anything I have ever come across.
