International YouTube sensations Harjit Bhandal and Jaz Saini of the hit YouTwoTV channel have won the 2017 iHeartRadio MMVAs “FAN FAVE MUCH CREATOR” award.
“The love we’ve gotten from everyone that has voted us into the top 5 is unreal,” said Harjit Bhandal and Jaz Saini. “Getting the chance to be nominated for an MMVA is a dream come true.
We can’t wait to share this award with all of our homies (fans)!”
YouTwoTV was created out of Jaz and Harjit’s passion for producing unique content and making people laugh. Since its official launch on February 8, 2016, the channel has garnered over 120 million views and 550,000 subscribers from all around the world. YouTwoTV provides weekly relatable and shareable content that touches on everything from relationships and education to work-related comedy. In conjunction with YouTwoTV, Harjit and Jaz also produce videos for their other channel YouTwoVlogs where viewers have a chance to get to follow their day to day lives and get to know the real duo as they freely express their opinions, likes and dislikes.
The Brampton born and raised pair have also become in-demand brand ambassadors and have partnered with major companies on several campaigns including Google Canada, Subway Canada, McDonald’s Canada, Bell Canada, and Nestle Canada, among others. Most recently, Harjit and Jaz were recognized by the City of Brampton with the Citizens Awards Arts Acclaim Award. The award is given to those whose involvement in the arts have contributed to the community in a significant manner, or have had an impact in terms of achieving local, provincial,
national or international acclaim. They have also been nominated for the Brampton Board of Trade’s Brampton Top 40 Under 40 award.

Harjit Bhandal was born and raised in Brampton, Ontario and is a graduate of Harold Brathwaite Secondary School. With no post-secondary education, he used his love for film to start his own
production company and shot everything from short films to weddings. When he’s not trying to take over the world with Jaz, you can find him playing basketball or playing Zelda.

Jaz Saini was born and raised in Brampton, Ontario. She has a diploma in Marketing and a certificate in Marketing Design Applications. She started her career as a Social Media Strategist
both in and out of the entertainment industry but knew she was meant to be on camera. Other than her love for creating content, Jaz is a huge foodie and also loves playing Zelda.

Your YouTube Channel is taking off! Congrats on winning 2017 iHeart Radio MMVAs “FAN FAVE MUCH CREATOR” award! You have raised the bar on what it means to be a driving force in the industry. Let’s talk YouTwoTV. Tell us how it all started.
Jaz: Thank you thank you! This has been a crazy whirlwind of a ride, but we’re so excited about everything that’s going on. We started YouTwoTV in February 2016, so just over a year ago and we’ve been making weekly skits since, haven’t missed a week yet! We were both in the industry already, just doing a lot of the behind the scenes work! I was doing social media work for a bunch of companies and clients, and Harjit was running his production company shooting everything from weddings to music videos.
Harjit: Somewhere between all of that, we both had our own little Youtube channels that we would do on the side. We started spending a lot of our time together and realized the content we were making on our channels started to look very similar. That’s when we had the idea of joining forces and taking over the world (still working on the taking over the world part). We didn’t take the idea seriously though until Jaz came up with the name YouTwoTV. We loved the name so much, we just started banging out videos and now here we are. 🙂
Let’s talk about the production process. You’re an inspiration to many, who would love to do something similar.
Harjit: We spend A LOT of our time writing scripts. This is mainly because we’re very indecisive so we’ll write an entire script and then realize that we hate it. We go through this process at least 4-5 times a week.
Jaz: A lot of the time, we shoot our entire video the day it’s going to be released. We still don’t know why we do this, but it’s just become part of what we do. We work really well under pressure and are the epitome of procrastination. We wake up at 6 AM on #YouTwoMonday and start filming. As soon as we’re done, I start the edit and Harjit finishes it off. This has been the process since our second video!
You have over 120 million views and over 600,000 subscribers from around the world. This must be an amazing feeling! Why do you believe the channel resonates with so many viewers?
Jaz: It’s been insane! We honestly never expected to get to where we are this quickly!
Harjit: Above all, we make content that we would enjoy watching! We honestly feel like if the videos make us laugh, they’re bound to make others laugh as well. Jaz and I love watching videos and shows we can relate to. So we just took that approach and started making our videos in the same way!
Tell us the benefits of having a YouTube channel.
Harjit: Our favorite part about Youtube is the instant feedback. You make a video, upload it, and almost instantly you’ll get a bunch of comments (some good, some bad). I feel like you can’t get that kind of connection with an audience anywhere else!
Are there any projects you’re working on that you can share?
Jaz: There are SO MANY THINGS in the works right now, but nothing is concrete enough to share.
Harjit: All I’m gonna say is… we’re just getting started. (cue dramatic music)
You have such a busy schedule. Is there anything you like to do to relax between projects?
Harjit: We literally eat food to relax haha. Trying different types of food, or the same food over and over again is probably one of our favorite things to do. Don’t judge us.
Jaz: We truly love our job so much that we try our best not to have any free time, but when we do we’re either eating food or playing Nintendo. My obsession with Zelda and Mario Kart is REAL. 🙂
What’s next for YouTwoTV?
Jaz: LOS ANGELES. We’re planning on moving to LA really soon! It’s probably the most exciting and scariest thing we’ve ever done. We’ve been planning the move to LA since the beginning of 2017, but never took it too seriously until recently. Our parents are still in disbelief about us moving and we feel like they’ll stay that way until they see us packing haha!
Any aspiring words for those wishing to develop their own YouTube channel?
Harjit: WORK HARDER THAN YOU’VE EVER WORKED BEFORE. This applies to everything, not only Youtube. If you want something, you have to be willing to work harder than everyone else that’s chasing the same thing.
Jaz: We strongly believe that hard work always beats talent. The amount of work you put in is the only thing you have control over, so keep working.
Harjit: Support your dreams until your dreams support you.
Jaz: Last but not least, be consistent. 🙂
