Xavier VanderBlue is an African-American actor based out of San Antonio, Texas. His peers gave him the nickname “Blue” due to his trademark blue hair. His early work consisted of commercials for Dick’s Sporting Goods, appearing in music videos, such as Jryan’s “Love yourself,” as well as posting Vines that totaled over 2 million total Vine loops. To date, his biggest accomplishment has been landing a role on the Dunbar team in the film “Round of Your Life” starring Allie DeBerry, Katie Leclerc, and Richard T Jones. While he’s not on set, Blue stays active in as a Promo/Runway model. Most recently, he was chosen to walk for New York Fashion Week!
We had an opportunity to interview Xavier. Check out the interview below.
Hi, Xavier! We are excited to discuss your portfolio. Tell us about “Round of Your Life.
Round of Your Life is a sensational story consistent with overcoming obstacles, following passions and of course a little bit of Drama in between. This film is flooded with talent as the cast includes some big names such as Katie Leclerc, Richard T. Jones, and Allie DeBerry.
What can you tell us about your character and role?
My role in this film was the co-captain of the rival golf team (Dunbar). My character was used to display the arrogance and confidence of our team as were meant to look unstoppable. I don’t want to spoil to film, but just know this, it will definitely be a roller coaster of emotion.
What should the audience expect?
In the film, there is definitely going to be a strong love connection that helps drive the competitive spirits of the film. Anyone that has any interest in sports, drama, and love, will definitely be enjoying the release of the film.
What are your expectations for the film?
I’m hoping that this film is able to show people that anything is people when you work for it and when you actually believe you can accomplish your goal. When you leave it all out there on the table and give something all you have, the results will follow. Tim did a really good job displaying that in this film.
You also appear in a short film called “Blankets.” Tell us more?
“Blankets” is a short film centered around the mental effect of child abuse. In the film you can clearly see how abuse has corrupted the mind of an entire family, driving them all to the point of murder, suicide, and other tragedies. I was able to play the role of Michael, who was not actually assaulted in any way, but had to deal with result as my father was killed by a sociopath.
Thank you for chatting with us about the film. Is there anything else you would like to add that we didn’t cover?
I want to take a moment to mention a music video that I was cast to play a bully for. As an advocate for anti-bullying I have been able to work with artist such as JRyan to bring awareness bullying and the effects that it can have on the younger generation. Feel free to check out that music video on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yEfpWRxtmk
