Fresh off their electrifying performance at the final Dreamville Festival, multiple GRAMMY Award-nominated hip-hop artist Bas and London-based musical duo The Hics have announced their long-awaited collaborative album, Melanchronica. Set to release on June 17, 2025, the album is now available for pre-save. Alongside the announcement, the collaborators have unveiled the lead single, “Everyday Ppl,” which is now streaming on all digital platforms via Dreamville/FIENDS.
Marking a new chapter in his career, Bas steps into his most visionary era yet with Melanchronica, a project that has been quietly in the making for eight years. This deeply layered and emotionally charged album was crafted in studios across five cities, showcasing the creative synergy between Bas and The Hics at its most refined. Melanchronica serves as a poignant soundtrack for those navigating the discontent of modern life—overworked, disconnected, and yearning for deeper meaning.
Exploring the themes of the album, Bas shares, “The longing of a lost love, the battle with our own duality, and the self-reflection on our shortcomings are just a few of the themes woven into Melanchronica. It also delves into the struggles we face with ambition, the weight of responsibilities for others, and the painful moments when we fall short.”
