The song “Just Human” was featured on Hot4Robot’s self-titled 2021 studio release. It quickly became a fan favorite due to its infectious 7/4 time signature, singalong chorus, and relatable theme about how technology both connects us and makes us feel alienated. The track delves into the human desire to surpass our physical and mental limitations and the increasing reliance on technology to fulfill that desire.
In 2021, Hot4Robot released an album that combined alt-rock, punk, and new wave influences in a fully “plugged” format. In November 2023, the band recorded a live MTV Unplugged-style concert at Godfrey Daniels, a legendary listening room in Bethlehem, PA. Performing unplugged challenged the band to reimagine their songs by stripping away the pedals and production, and presenting the tunes in their purest form. The result exceeded expectations – the raw acoustic format in front of a listening room audience showcased the band’s musicianship and songwriting skills. “Just Human” is the first single from the unplugged concert and is accompanied by a live performance and lyric video.
