Previously featured New York bassist Richie Goods is one of the most versatile and accomplished bass players in the industry. He is the youngest person inducted into the Pittsburgh Jazz Hall of Fame and is known for performing with a variety of jazz and popular artists including Sting, The Headhunters, Louis Hayes, and more.
Chien Chien (Lu) is a talented vibraphonist, contemporary percussionist, and composer. Her Taiwanese background, classical music education, and love for R&B grooves come together to create a unique approach to contemporary jazz. She was honored as the “vibraphone rising star” in Downbeat Magazine’s 69th Annual Critics Poll.
During the COVID-19 lockdown, Goods and Lu’s discussions about the Black Lives Matter movement and anti-Asian violence motivated them to work together on a project that aimed to bring people together and promote love and peace. This collaboration resulted in the musical releases “The Path” (September 2020), “We Three Kings” (November 2020), and “Rain” (December 2021). Their partnership culminated in the release of the album “Connected” in January 2023.
These talented artists are scheduled to perform over the coming months. The schedule includes The Triple Door on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 7:30pm. For further information and bookings, please visit the venue’s website.
