Sister Envy return with their most electrifying release yet, the awe-inspiring third single, ‘Swallowed By The Ground’. A soaring space rock anthem, the track is packed with chiming, nimble guitars, relentless basslines, and cycling drums, all tied together by frontman Kameron Jolliffe’s powerful and emotive vocals. The introspective lyrics delve into the unraveling of a relationship, culminating in an unforgettable chorus that echoes the epic soundscapes of early Verve and My Vitriol, while drawing inspiration from the raw energy of Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana. With this release, Sister Envy continue to carve out their own unique space in the alternative rock scene.

Following the success of their previous singles ‘Tide’ and their debut ‘Mourning Sickness’, ‘Swallowed By The Ground’ builds on the momentum that has already earned the band acclaim. Publications such as Louder Than War, So Young Magazine, and God Is In The TV have championed their work, while their music has gained airplay and praise from Radio X’s John Kennedy and playlisting on BBC Radio Wales’ Welsh Mix. Their debut live performance at the Focus Wales festival last year further cemented their reputation as a rising force in the alternative psychedelic rock world.

Reflecting on the new single, Kameron Jolliffe shares, “I had the main riff lying around for a while and didn’t really touch it, though I really liked it. We started jamming it in a rehearsal, and the song pretty much wrote itself. It quickly became one of our favourite songs to play together.”

Hailing from the rugged and captivating North Wales coast, Sister Envy’s music is deeply rooted in the mystery, beauty, and challenges of their surroundings. A place where opportunities for young people can feel limited, yet dreams still find a way to break through. It was in this environment that the band members met at college and began crafting their sound, blending alternative and psychedelic rock into a style all their own.

‘Swallowed By The Ground’ was brought to life at Liverpool’s iconic Motor Museum Studio with producer Ben Harper. The track was mixed in France by Welsh legend Owain Ginsberg and mastered in Austin, Texas, by renowned producer Erik Wofford (The Black Angels). These carefully chosen collaborators have helped Sister Envy refine their sound, delivering a single that is both polished and bursting with raw emotion.

As 2025 unfolds, Sister Envy are set to invite listeners deeper into their world with a series of releases and live shows, gradually unveiling the many layers of their sound and artistry. ‘Swallowed By The Ground’ is just the beginning of what promises to be an exciting year for this fast-emerging quartet.
