Remember Summer is a musical duo of Northern Irish Paddy Conn from the indie pop band Swimming Tapes and English vocalist Angelina Dove. Their mutual love for past times is reflected in their dreamy, nostalgic pop music featuring wistful poetry and dusty synths. Their songs evoke a sense of bittersweet nostalgia, capturing the essence of long-lost summer nights and the melancholy beauty of a late summer road trip. The pair first met in the summer of 2016 while working at a cafe in Forest Gate, where they began creating music together. What started as a casual pastime eventually led to a deeper collaboration after they lost their jobs at the cafe the following year. Living only five minutes apart, they continued making music together and formed the duo “Remember Summer.”

The duo recently released a new folk rendition of Miley Cyrus’s “Wrecking Ball,” infusing the modern pop track with their vintage-inspired style. Their cover features raw synths and echoing vocals, adding warmth and a touch of nostalgia to the well-known song. Angelina Dove explained their choice of the track, saying, “Metaphorically spot on; I think I’m an ‘exploding doormat’ personality type. A really long fuse, but once it’s lit…Wrecking Ball resonated with me, I feel like I’ve been there. The explosions, the disappointment, indifference even.”
