Filmed in Ireland on location in Cork, Waterford & Tipperary, Stormtroopers stars Carolyn Bracken (You Are Not My Mother; Dublin Murders, Balor Hall, The Gone); Pius McGrath (Foundation, The Gates); Peter Cosgrave (Pilgrimage) and Klancy Casey Williams.
This Star Wars Fan Film, set during the Andor and Rogue One timeline, tells the Star Wars saga from different perspectives. The plot sees the Imperial Base Station besieged by battleship attacks and haunting PTSD within its ranks. Stormtroopers was filmed in various epic locations, including hiking 792m above sea level to film in a dormant volcano in Waterford, and diving 30m deep to film underwater in Tipperary whilst the 32m Large Antenna Array in the National Space Center in Cork doubled as the anchor location for the Imperial Base Station.
The project was released online after a tour of event screenings including the Mitchelstown Cave Premiere, 200ft underground in the chilled prehistoric caverns in March, the Exclusive Dublin Comic Con Premiere in The Convention Centre Dublin, the National Space Centre Homecoming Premiere in April, and March Sci-Fi Film Festival in Portmagee, where it won several awards including Best Actress & Best VFX.
Stormtroopers is written & directed by Micheal Fitzgerald (Home & Away; Game of Thrones; Dublin Murders). The project was produced by Cork Racing with VFX and post-production by Dog Day Media. Check it out!
