Finding a shared passion in similar musical styles, Kar formed after the trio met while studying music at Bath College. They went on to perform gigs in the local area, creating a small buzz in local venues. They were accepted on to the MAS Records development scheme, which supports aspiring musicians with free rehearsal and recording time. MAS Records Patrons include Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin), Ricky Wilson (Kaiser Chiefs), and Kevyn Gammond (Band of Joy). It is a welcomed initiative, assisting promising artists with a resourceful bridge into the wider industry.
The band debut single ‘Anything At All’, released in June of this year, was recognized for its emotive lyricism and catchy melodies. Recorded, mixed and mastered with Josh Gallop at Stage 2 Studios, Kar’s follow up single explores similar themes. ‘On Our Own’ is due for release on October 30th. It is a tender track about how relationships influence life, for better or worse. Vocal prowess, atmospheric guitars and lamenting lyrics are injected into a technical performance that glides along at a confident pace, comfortably straddling between a required intimacy and musical power. Kar’s second single shows it is a band to watch out for and we wish them the best of luck with the track!
