Hot off the back of their acclaimed debut EP ‘Kiss Me On The Mouth,’ Bristol rock outfit Oswald Slain are back with ‘Firing Line’—the latest single from their highly anticipated debut album, ‘Bucky,’ set for release on October 24th, 2025.
.
Emerging from the creative sanctuary of their home studio, Oswald Slain’s music is a testament to both personal and artistic evolution. The band’s latest work captures a period of deep reflection, as lyricist Fitz draws on the wild chaos of youth and the lessons of growing older. The result? Songwriting that’s heartfelt, witty, and evocative, all delivered with the swagger of classic retro rock.
.
Their five-track debut EP, ‘Kiss Me On The Mouth,’ released in April, garnered praise from multiple publications. Self-produced alongside Ryan Rogers (Mumble Tide) and mastered by Jason Mitchell at Loud Mastering (PJ Harvey, XTC, Big Special), their upcoming single ‘Firing Line’ is a vibrant blend of gritty rhythms, blues-soaked guitar riffs, impeccable percussion, and lush harmonies. It’s Oswald Slain at their most honest, lyrically delving into the emotional complexities of loving someone.
.
Lead vocalist and lyricist Charlie Fitzgerald describes ‘Firing Line’ as “a ride-or-die, deeply romantic song about supporting and loving someone through their hardest times. It’s one of our absolute favourites from the new album. Recording it was incredibly satisfying, and writing the lyrics felt grounding. We were listening to a lot of Weezer and Pixies at the time, which definitely shaped the sound.”
Just six months after their debut EP, Oswald Slain will unveil ‘Bucky’—their debut eight-track album—on October 24th, 2025.
