Female-fronted Belgian gothic synth-rockers Lovelorn Dolls present ‘Beautiful Chaos’, released via Alfa Matrix / SPLEEN+ (home to such artists as Front 242, Recoil, and Leather Strip). Previewing their fourth album ‘Deadtime Stories’, here, the band break free from the dreamy goth-pop presented on their latest ‘Dream World’ single. This is an ode to love stories gone wrong, injecting some beautiful chaos into our lives.
The accompanying video thrusts their tiny girl protagonist into a descent towards a darker world, trapping her in a padded asylum room haunted by beautifully chaotic characters. This sonic journey is rounded out with five bonus remixes, each delving into diverse sound universes – from minimal EBM to industrial goth and ethereal wave.
Hailing from Brussels, Lovelorn Dolls explores territory inhabited by the likes of Evanescence, Theatre of Tragedy, Garbage, and Lacuna Coil. They lead us into an extraordinary, dark yet romantic universe where Tim Burton’s visuals collide with the glam touch of The Birthday Massacre and the freaky extravaganza of Marilyn Manson – a landscape where creepy cute meets gothic rock.
