Olive Louise, a New York native, has been described as “Laufey meets Olivia Rodrigo” by A1234, who recently took note of Olive’s latest release, ‘No Medicine’. Olive grew up on Long Island and practiced the violin daily before school. She was a voice major at a boarding school in Michigan, where she discovered her love for alternative music, listening to artists like Atmosphere, Santigold, and Kimbra. As a child, Olive was only allowed to listen to classical music and says, “My brain always goes to piano and violin first; it’s my factory setting.” Her production features soaring strings and floating harmonies and has been associated with the dream pop, indie folk, and Americana genres.
