ROREY, a 24-year-old singer-songwriter from New York, grew up bi-coastal, splitting her time between Manhattan and Los Angeles. She began playing guitar at the age of six and taught herself to play the piano at fourteen. In 2019, she decided to leave college and return to LA to focus on her music career. She released her first single, “Predictable,” in 2021. ROREY is known for her unique rhyme schemes and brutally honest, vulnerable lyrics, that are complemented by unforgettable hooks.

The artist finds lyrical inspiration in a wide range of sources, even drawing from text conversations. “My songwriting has been my greatest confidant, and my creative process has provided me with the only respite from the precarious nature of life,” she shares. Although ROREY is the only musician in her family, her home was never quiet. Her early musical influences, which she attributes to her parents, include Santana, Pink Floyd, and Jethro Tull.

In 2021, ROREY was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. During this challenging time, she wrote six of the eight songs that will feature on her upcoming sophomore EP, *Dysphoria*. Co-produced with her longtime friend and collaborator, Scott Effman, this collection of music reflects her cognitive dissonance as she navigates her mental health journey, characterized by haunting melodies, ethereal vocals, and hypnotic instrumentals.

The single “Soho Grand” explores a dark period in her life and her path toward healing. ROREY shares, “I think we’ve all been in a place where we wondered if things would ever get better. That feeling kept me from seeking help because, for a while, I thought, ‘What’s the point if it never does?’ Spoiler alert—it did. Healing isn’t linear; for me, it took years of commitment and surrender. To anyone looking for relief, I’d encourage you to lean into the uncertainty. Trust the process—it’s worth it.”

ROREY organically caught the ear of Apple Music’s Zane Lowe show. and has since landed coveted spots on Spotify and Apple Music playlists, such as Fresh Finds, Fresh Finds Indie, New Music Daily, New in Pop, and a myriad of Japanese editorial playlists.

ROREY is here to unnerve you and push you to confront the depths of your psyche. She shares, “I think I say outloud what some people are afraid to say. It keeps me going to know my songs help people get intouch with their emotions.” Whether you want to cry in your bed or dance alone in your room – ROREY has a song for you.
