PERIPHERAL ON CENTER: Zack Stentz Interview

I had the pleasure of interviewing one of the greatest American writers and producers in the film and TV industry,  Zack Stentz. At first glance, his name may not be familiar to you, but his work certainly is. He was on a writing team that produced some of the hottest Hollywood films: Thor,  X-Men: First Class, and television smash hit, The Flash. He gifted us with creative ideas, such as Agent Phil Coulson best know for his role in The Avengers and currently featured in the television show, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. It was his suggestion to introduce Agent Phil Coulson in Thor.  Agent Phil Coulson was created by Mark Fergus, Hawk Ostby, Art Marcum, and Matt Holloway for Iron Man. You can say the character’s introduction in the Thor movie was a precursor to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

In my interview, Zack shares his experience and insight in the world of screenwriting, covering topics from how world events shape character development, to the importance of delivering what the studio demands in a story. The passion he displays for his work shows a genuine love for what he does. Zack is currently working on Booster Gold, a movie about a time-traveling, DC comic book action superhero. It is produced by Greg Berlanti, the co-creator of The CW  network’s DC television show universe: The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Arrow, and Supergirl.
