We’ve had the pleasure of covering the NYC-based musician over the last year, showcasing her previous single ‘Forever’ and later catching up with her to discuss ‘Waste My Time’, released at the start of the pandemic. Her songs, influenced by a broad spectrum of musical genres, capture the ups and downs of life and her latest track is no different.
Her newest release, “Personal Popstar” continues the singer’s musical progression, integrating hyperpop/PC Music elements into her established pop sound. The song shares the melancholic spirit as Carly’s previous features but the misty electronics and somewhat auto-tuned vocals create a distinction. This is a mature track, composed with a light atmosphere that compliments her airy yet expressive vocals. Overall, Personal Popstar continues a successful run of memorable tracks as we look forward to future offerings. The video is an interesting one, shot at an old honeymoon resort, that will remain nameless! Check out the track.
