It was announced today that Save the Planet Already! will premiere on The Green Channel on October 7th. Save the Planet Already! is a live comedy special that brings seven comedians together to perform jokes, songs and even present a PowerPoint on climate change, the environment, fracking, and more. Filmmaker Scott Renyard, of Juggernaut Pictures, challenged standup comedians Harris Anderson, Stuart Jones, KC Novak, Patrick Maliha (Never Be Done: The Richard Glen Lett Story), Simon King (Tooth Fairy), Allanah Brittany, and Megan Milton to a theme night about the environment hosted by comic Steve Allen.

This is the first original comedy for The Green Channel; a subscription-based online streaming platform with a mission to highlight beautiful, untold stories of those coming together to better our planet. Scott Renyard founded the channel after dedicating the last twenty years to TV and film projects focused on environmental issues. The channel is a collection of films and projects dedicated to bringing awareness to global climate issues and he decided to create Save the Planet Already! to deliver the same message, but with a bit of laughter. Scott is a filmmaker and scientist who writes, produces, and directs award-winning ecological documentaries, he has worked on more than 200 film and TV projects and his recent films include Trial of An Iconic SpeciesThe Unofficial Trial of Alexandra Morton, and The Pristine Coast, which premiered at VIFF and won the Focal International Award.

Scott is thrilled to be bringing a bit of levity to the issues of climate change and believes that awareness creates change. The Green Channel is a subscription-based service, but the first month is free. Although Save the Planet Already! was filmed in Vancouver and The Green Channel was founded in Canada both can be accessed in many countries around the globe.

The Green Channel‘s mission is to highlight beautiful, untold stories of those coming together to better our planet. And that’s what makes us different.
