London-based artist ONUR bends music genre with his single, “Wired.” The song hits the ground running as the listener is immediately punched with a crisp drum and haunting synth, under sleek vocals. The single addresses the singer’s experience with the “hate” spawned from his initial success, after his debut single “Beamin” released in 2018. While it could easily just document his grumblings, “Wired” instead delves into the solution to “hating” through self-belief and pressing forward. The lyrics inspire listeners to never shrink themselves to make others feel more comfortable. The track underneath could easily be mistaken for a late 80’s underground club banger. A very good one. But there is something very original in the presentation of this song.

The 23-year-old wrote and produced the song as a strong pledge of self-belief. To accompany the single, ONUR spurned the elaborate video production route. Instead, he shot a spontaneous video after a random party, coincidentally filled with many of his haters. Hungover and gliding through the streets of London, ONUR takes us on his recorded journey to enlightenment. Nothing complicated, just a few more pints with his mate, as they navigate the approaching storm that appears in the backdrop of the video. No problem for this burgeoning artist, who thrives when weathering storms. “Wired” is unapologetic and is sure to have listeners excited for ONUR’s sophomore EP, scheduled for the fall.
