New Yorkers, get ready for the return of Lincoln Center’s Summer for the City! The fourth annual festival is back, inviting locals and visitors alike to experience a season packed with global culture, creativity, and community spirit. Whether you’re a fan of music, dance, or art, this year’s bold lineup promises world premieres, interactive events, and much more—all for free or at a price you choose. Since 2022, over a million guests have made this festival a summer staple. Don’t miss your chance to explore reimagined outdoor spaces and soak up the city’s best artistic experiences right at Lincoln Center.

Step back in time for a night of vintage glamour and infectious rhythms as Vince Giordano and The Nighthawks light up the Dance Floor at Lincoln Center. Renowned as New York City’s premier big band, The Nighthawks are celebrated worldwide for their authentic take on hot jazz—the irresistible, swinging sound that defined the 1920s and ’30s. Under the direction of GRAMMY Award-winning multi-instrumentalist Vince Giordano, this acclaimed orchestra has captivated audiences on HBO’s Boardwalk Empire and in films like The Aviator, The Cotton Club, and Revolutionary Road.

For one special evening, the band brings their signature energy from their Birdland residency to Lincoln Center, inviting dancers and jazz lovers alike to experience the golden age of ballroom. Arrive early to join dance instructors Heather Gehring and Lou Brockman for a beginner foxtrot lesson, and let DJ Ryan Swift set the mood before the live music begins. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or just love the sound of a swinging big band, this is a summer night you won’t want to miss.

Vince Giordano and The Nighthawks perform on Thursday, June 12 at 6:30 pm via The Dance Floor at Josie Robertson Plaza. For further information, please visit the Lincoln Center website.
