Sunrise Films, the recently launched, internationally focused production, distribution, and sales company founded by Rupert Preston and Nigel Williams, continues to make waves in the global film industry. After producing high-stakes thrillers such as The Accused—directed by Philip Barantini of Boiling Point and Adolescence fame, which debuted on Netflix in the UK, ANZ, and Canada in 2023—and George Amponsah’s Gassed Up, which received a UK theatrical release through Vertigo Releasing before landing on Amazon Prime, Sunrise Films is now expanding its reach into the U.S. market.
.
The company has acquired U.S. distribution rights from international film distributor Studio TF1 to Another End, the latest feature from acclaimed Italian director Piero Messina (The Wait). Produced by Indigo Film with Rai Cinema, Another End is set for a nationwide theatrical release in the United States on September 19, 2025.
.
Another End boasts an impressive international cast, including Gael García Bernal (Y Tu Mamá También), Renate Reinsve (The Worst Person in the World), Bérénice Bejo (The Artist), and Olivia Williams (Dune: Prophecy). The film, described as a melancholy, genre-bending romance, premiered in competition at the 2024 Berlin International Film Festival, where it was lauded for its emotional resonance and striking visual style. Blending intimate human drama with science fiction elements, Another End offers a meditation on love, loss, and the possibility of connection beyond time and memory.
.
Andrew Nerger, Head of US and International Distribution at Sunrise Films, shares, “Another End is a rare film that manages to be both deeply moving and visually audacious. With Piero Messina’s singular vision and an extraordinary international cast, we’re proud to bring this beautiful story to U.S. audiences.”
.
Sunrise Films will release Another End exclusively in theaters across the United States on September 19, 2025.
