The Warrior King is considered one of Central Asia’s literary classics. The 3D animated epic fantasy “Warrior King”is based on the true story of King Gesar, born to divine lineage. Young Gesar is besieged by demons and monsters and must fulfill his destiny to protect and lead his people while defeating the evil that threatens their existence. The story follows a young King Gesar and his mother who are wrongly accused of a crime and exiled by their own townspeople forcing them to battle harsh conditions, and eventually settle and find refuge. In so doing, the young king defeats a demon, freeing enslaved workers and establishing a settlement. It is from this point that King Gesar is mentored as he matures into a young man, facing many moral trials and internal challenges in preparation to become a divine leader and warrior.
With engaging visuals and storytelling, the Warrior King is an entertaining animation. The journey Gesar embarked on provided many moral and philosophical tribulations, and illustrates that principles, intelligence, and empathy are as fundamental to leadership as physical strength. This also evoked a more emotional connection to the King and other characters. The Warrior King opens in North America on August 25th.
