”Right Before Your Eyes’ is inspired by true events from director David Vincent Bobb’s life. He wrote this script over 14 years ago in New York City whilst trying to make his way as an aspiring actor. Unfortunately, facing difficult times, he slipped deep into addiction and alcoholism, leaving his own personal relationships in crisis. The purpose of this story is to bring hope and inspiration to those who suffer from addiction and raise awareness. It also celebrates those with disabilities and those who care for them. It has been selected for 15 festivals so far and has garnered 10 Awards.
It tells the story of Ethan, played by actor Adam Ratcliffe, who loses everything he has because of his addiction. He must find ways to crawl out of the darkness and get back home to his autistic son he hasn’t seen since birth.
Discussing the film, David Vincent Bobb said ‘I did a lot of research and a lot of reaching out and asking questions about how to make a film. From the beginning, I knew this was going to be a faith-based film, so my first goal was to find a cast and a crew that believed in the things I believed in and most importantly believed in this story. I wanted them to genuinely feel the emotions this story makes me feel, I didn’t want them to only be involved with the film, I wanted them to be spiritually invested in the film.’
The film will be screened at the First Glance Film Festival 22 at the PFS Theatre on Saturday, Nov. 2nd at 5:45 pm. The film has been nominated so far for 3 categories: Best Drama, Best Ensemble Cast, and Best Director. We wish David and the crew the very best of success with the film.
