Returning for its second year, the Montreux Jazz Festival Residency (13–15 March) takes centre stage, delving into the influence, impact, and contemporary sound of jazz through the lens of today’s trailblazing artists. One of the highlights, Theo Croker’s “Miles Davis Mixtape” (13 March), marks the centenary of the legendary trumpeter’s birth, offering a fresh tribute to his groundbreaking legacy.
.
Championing the next generation, pioneering UK organisation Women in Jazz presents an evening showcase led by rising jazz vocalist Lucy-Anne Daniels (13 March), followed by an afternoon discussion with Celeste exploring jazz’s impact on contemporary music (14 March). The residency also features a series of free events throughout the weekend, including an open jam session with the Five Points Project (13 March) and a lively panel discussion celebrating the life and legacy of the late neo-soul icon D’Angelo (15 March).
With its forward-looking energy and commitment to creative exchange, March at the Southbank Centre is set to inspire, challenge, and connect audiences—continuing a legacy of innovation that spans generations.
