Alt-rock trio Lazy Bones have garnered comparisons to Queens of the Stone Age and The Yeah Yeahs Yeahs. Two groups that would never draw comparisons to one another. Their latest single “Trash Talk” does shed some insight into the comparisons. Their latest effort is a controversial song reflecting “that moment when you know you’re about to say something you’ll regret when you’re right on the edge and you just can’t stop it, “ according to lead singer Candi Underwood. The group succeeds in invoking this message by mixing an amplified organ, contorted bass, and thriving drums. Underwood brings it all together as she rides the track with vocals teetering between rock and punk. The result is a powerful track that is instantly appealing and memorable. There’s an energy that these three have created that is contagious and will have the listener wanting more. Turn the volume up and bask in the regret.
