Based on an untold true story, brothers Thomas & Meeks Griffin were prominent black farmers who were forced to sell their land and wrongly executed. 100 years later, they’re back to avenge their deaths by killing the descendants of those responsible. From director Andre Alfa, Blackstock Boneyard stars Ashley Whelan, Aspen Kennedy, Aubree Storm, Bryan McClure, and Richie Stephens.
The film follows the usual horror formula, comprising an innocent vulnerable female protagonist, and supporting cast, some of course, individually killed in typical gruesome fashion. Based on true events, perhaps you can sympathize with the Griffin duo getting their revenge. Unfortunately, as per usual in this genre, they will be collateral damage. As a production, director Andre Alfa’s film moves at an entertaining pace and can hold an audience’s interest, at least until the killing spree, where the budget and special effects, which aren’t necessarily award-winning, inadvertently adds slight humor to the proceedings. starring Ashley Whelan, Aspen Kennedy, Aubree Storm, Bryan McClure, and Richie Stephens, Blackstock Boneyard is a middling horror production that doesn’t revolutionize the genre but will keep horror fans entertained. It premieres on DVD and Digital tomorrow.
