What Death Leaves Behind
“What Death Leaves Behind” is a surprisingly great adrenaline rush. Directed by Scott A. Hamilton, it will leave you breathless, and wanting to see more. With an hour and a half film, this director takes you on an unusual journey with a non-linear fashion. Yet, this film message comes through loud and very clear, with flashbacks and a flash-forward sequence. Just hold on to your seat and get your “Hitchcockian” suspense thrill on. The movie stars a large ensemble cast who’s worth their weight in gold. The film includes newcomer Khalil McMillan, Christopher Mann, Vincent Young, Shaira Barton, Kelly Dowdle, Amanda Diaz, Johnny Alonso, Erin O’Brien.
From the start of the film, you are introduced to the protagonist Jake Warren (Khalil McMillan). In a store with his little girl. Jake leaves her inside the store. He goes outside and commences to beat the daylights out of a stranger. Flashback, Jake is a hardworking family man suffering from kidney failure. He finally receives a much-needed kidney transplant. Instead of a new life, Jake is tortured with visions of murder and chaos. Is cellular memory a figment of one’s imagination or science fiction? Jake is obsessed with finding the “truth,” and where it may lead him.
There are no spoilers from me. I will tell you this, “What Death Leaves Behind” breaks the rules of “I know what the film is about” from the start. No way, you will forget that you’re watching a film because the story being told will grip you. It will keep your attention until the shocking end.
You will be entertained with “What Death Leaves Behind.” It’s very well acted and a treat for the senses. It is well Directed by Scott A. Hamilton. This film has great editing and camera work. The whole acting cast was brilliant. I’ll easily give “What Death Leaves Behind” five stars. It’s worth the watch.
