Straight from Alex Aff, “I released the song in September of 2017 and afterwards it naturally became a mantra for me. It became something I wanted to continuously remember. Then I designed some merch around it. Fast forward to shooting the video, I linked up with Evan and he came up with the direction and concept. We walked around downtown Durham and tried to catch a real smooth vibe. The editing of the video is really what gives it a certain feel. Very different from all my other visuals.”
Director Evan Kidd shares his thought. “Working with Alex, a veteran of Durham NC hip-hop scene was a phenomenal creative experience. We wanted to recreate some of the mellow and contemplative vibes the song was giving off through the visuals I captured on our day of production, as well as showcasing the unique aesthetic look of Durham as a city. What we ended up with really did that for me, I’m excited to help further push and establish NC’s thriving hip-hop scene with these visuals.”
