PRTTY BOYS

Comprised of rapper & producer Alexander “Spadez” Martinez coupled with vocalist & producer they energize and excite listeners with their synth-heavy brand of West Coast sounds.  Writing, producing, and engineering every song entirely themselves, the two artists take pride in delivering meticulously crafted and radio-ready “slaps”.  Slated for a huge 2018, the PRTTY BOYS will be dropping their debut album The Juice Factory, in May a collection of tunes that may just as easily soundtrack blurry nights in West Hollywood as it might sunset cruises down the Malibu coast.

Hi! Thank you for granting the interview. We’re excited to chat about the album release of  The Juice Factory! Tell us all about this latest production.

Spadez: It’s 18 songs of pure SLAPS. And the first of many to come.

Johnie B: Some pop vibes, some Hip-hop / R&B vibes, some electronic vibes.

Spadez: Ya know…vibes on vibes on vibes.

You write, produce, and engineer every song. What has been the inspiration behind your music?

Spadez: Just life and different experiences from growing up in the Bay Area. Living in New York and LA, and different people I’ve met along the way.

Johnie B: We pull a lot of material from the crazy nights out we’ve had living on the east and the westside.

How would you describe the album sound?

Johnie B: It sounds like you’re cruising down the Malibu coast.

Spadez: I get bored when albums come out and every song sounds the same so we tried to make this album have a little of everything we like to listen to while still keeping it cohesive.

Thus far, what has been the best experience working in the entertainment industry?

Spadez: So far, it’s mostly just being able to work with and make music with other artists. I worked at a studio for a while where I got to soak up game from artists like. Diddy, Kendrick Lamar, Fifth Harmony and Scott Storch (aka the greatest producer of all-time in my opinion). That was pretty cool too.

Johnie B: The best experience has been working on the product itself. Concocting the Juice with my dude Spadez.

Do you have any upcoming projects that we haven’t mentioned?

Spadez: Yessir! I have few in the works—a couple albums and EP’s. I can’t disclose too much info on those yet though.

Johnie B: My debut music video was just released. The song is called “scrt lv.” And keep an eye out for our first single “Cop Car” dropping in April. @PRTTYMUSIC for updates

Complete this sentence, if I had an opportunity to do anything I want, I would do ___________.

Spadez: Beachside dinner (candlelit of course) with Rachel Demita after a game of one-on-one. Real “Love & Basketball” with it. That, or buy an island.

Johnie B: Save the world, just like Elliot Alderson. But I would take a slightly more legal approach than he did.
