Hi, Grayson! Thank you for granting the interview. Congrats on your role as Sheldon in the Chicken Girls: The Movie. What should the audience expect?

There is a difference between the movie and the web series because there are additional characters that are not in the web series. There’s a little more comedy is in the movie that comes from my character Sheldon.

[su_pullquote align=”left”]”It was amazing to get offered a role for the first time without auditioning!”[/su_pullquote]Tell us about Sheldon. Who is he? What is his personality like?

Sheldon was a character that I made up in my head that would be annoying because he’s always spying on the other students. But, he’s also likable in his own way because he brought the two main characters together in the end.

What role does Sheldon play in the movie?

Sheldon is what I call the principal’s pet. Since he’s not real popular with the other students, he is always hanging around the new principal that is more concerned about academics than the school dances and after-school activities.

Was it a challenge to play Sheldon?

Not really. There were some difficult times but it wasn’t that hard. I just kept thinking of that type of kid that you’d want to close up in a locker for a day.

How did you get the role?

I actually didn’t audition for the role. My manager pitched me and he called us one day and asked if I was available to be on set the next Monday. Of course, I said “sure!” It was amazing to get offered a role for the first time without auditioning!

We know the movie is based on the Chicken Girls series aired on YouTube. How does the movie production bring something new to the story?

Well, there’s the regular cast in the web series that are going through the usual high school issues. The movie adds a little bit of a different twist by introducing a new principal and Sheldon.  They add something new by trying to cancel the school dance so that the students can concentrate on studying.

What is going to surprise people about Sheldon?

Sheldon is a good student but he’s failing Spanish class.

No bueno!

Without giving anything away, what’s your favorite line of dialogue?

When the Spanish teacher starts singing “La Cucaracha”.

Do you have any upcoming projects that we haven’t mentioned?

I recently wrapped a Halloween themed horror movie called Black Pumpkin that will be out this fall. I also have a web series I will be filming this fall called NC 16.

Complete this sentence, if I had an opportunity to do anything I want, I would do ___________.

I would like to do voice acting for a video game character. Preferably a first-person shooter type game.
