Formerly the Contemporary Visions annual group exhibition, the annual open call (now in its 10th year) has merged to encompass the highly successful SUMMER MARATHON*, which debuted at the gallery in 2019 to outstanding reception. The inaugural summer marathon presented a revitalized approach to the traditional ‘group show’ format, presenting international artists in subsequent solo exhibitions (in place of one group show) during the summer period. Through this unconventional approach, each of the exhibiting artists was able to fulfill their vision and stage a complete solo exhibition for one week. Many of the works have been sold to both private and public collections. Featured artists included Florence Hutchings and Jan Sebastian Koch.
The BEERS London Annual Open intends to explore current themes, trends, and innovations in contemporary art across all artistic disciplines. Artists anywhere in the world are invited to submit an application for consideration, and applicants will be vetted by a jury of arts professionals, and selected artists will exhibit in a one-week solo exhibition at Beers London gallery in the heart of East London’s vibrant art community during the 2020 Summer Marathon.
