New York’s arts scene continues to mourn the loss of Eleni Cocordas, former Executive Director of New York’s Agora Gallery. Eleni sadly passed away due to complications from COVID-19. Before joining Agora Gallery, Eleni had worked for prominent New York museums such as MoMA and the American Museum of Natural History, and cultural organizations as the Japan Society. For more than twenty-five years she specialized in collaborations with artists on site-specific installations and traveling exhibitions, for which she has traveled extensively. In loving memory, New York Art Competition, in collaboration with Agora Gallery, Japan Society, and the New York Foundation for the Arts have launched a charitable call for artists Art United – Together We Stand, aiming to raise funds for non-profit organizations assisting artists facing financial hardships due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Accepted mediums are painting, sculpture, photography, drawing, mixed media, and print. The Competition is accepting entries between May 21st and June 30th, with results being announced on July 27th.
