Occhi Magazine had the opportunity to speak to actor Chido Nwokocha, star of Tyler Perry’s new BET dramedy series, “Sistas”. Written, directed, and produced by Perry, “Sistas” follows a group of single black females as they navigate their complicated love life, careers, and friendships through the ups-n-downs of living in the age of social media and unrealistic relationship goals. Chido portrays the handsome, smooth-operating, charismatic CEO of a Fortune 500 company who, despite being married with children, longs to be with one of the “sistas.”
Born and raised in Sacramento to Nigerian immigrant parents, Chido and his siblings excelled at athletics and respectively flourished under their supportive eye. After graduating with a degree in Health Administration from Ohio University, Chido moved south to Los Angeles where a succession of roles soon followed. TV credits include “Hawaii Five-0,” “Scorpion,” “Shooter,” “The Night Shift,” “The Rookie’ and ”Steven Bochco’s acclaimed “Murder in the First’ Chido’s film credits include “Destroyer” with Nicole Kidman, and the anticipated and long-awaited “Top Gun: Maverick” with Maverick himself, Tom Cruise.
