Inertia-Occhi Magazine: Showcasing Independent Artists, Creative Projects & Inspiring Stories in Visual Arts, Music, Film, and Literature
Breaking Glass Pictures proudly presents Inertia, a spellbinding coming-of-age sci-fi drama that intertwines emotional intensity with thrilling suspense. Directed by Will Martinko and co-written with Tony McCall, the film follows 14-year-old Roman (John Brocagh Lynn), a boy struggling with adolescence and an extraordinary secret—the power to bend time and space. On the run with his fiercely protective mother Mariya (Jelena Uchev), Roman yearns for connection, only to find his life upended by new friendships, old family secrets, and the ever-present danger his abilities attract. When Roman’s estranged father Dmitri (Aidan Everly), a shadowy time-travel operative, resurfaces with a dire warning, Roman must decide whether to run from his destiny or embrace it, risking everything for a sense of belonging and self-discovery.

For director Will Martinko, Inertia is a deeply personal project rooted in his hometown in the greater Philadelphia area—a story he was determined to tell with honesty and creative freedom. “Choosing Rich Wolff and the team at Breaking Glass Pictures to produce Inertia was an easy decision,” Martinko shares. “Rich gave me my first shot, offering the support and space I needed to grow as a filmmaker and bring a story to life that I truly believe is worth sharing. Setting the film in my own community allowed me to explore themes of identity, courage, and the transformative power of friendship in a way that feels both universal and intimate.”
With its 80-minute runtime, Inertia is a journey into the heart of what it means to find your place in the world—where the extraordinary collides with the everyday, and the greatest adventure is discovering who you truly are.
