The Dressing Room is a workplace comedy that follows a fictional touring musical called ‘Balloon Boy.’ We watch as the cast & crew try to keep the show alive every night with backstage meltdowns, romantic entanglements, and Broadway-sized ambitions; the series offers a hilarious and heartfelt look at the people who dedicate their lives to the stage. The series draws inspiration from real experiences within Canada’s theatre community and serves as a love letter to the performers, stage managers, musicians, technicians and creatives who keep the show going. The series stars Irene Karas Loeper (Spotlight on Christmas), Jason Sakaki (The Vince Staples Show), Jeffrey Michael Follis (Starwalker), and Alex Gullason (Schmigadoon!).

“We wanted to create a funny, character-driven series that offered a window into the hilarious and heartfelt world behind the curtain. More than anything, The Dressing Room became a love letter to our theatre community and the artists we’ve been fortunate to work alongside throughout our careers,” says co-creator Paul Almeida. “The world can feel pretty overwhelming these days, and we wanted The Dressing Room to be a fun place for audiences to land. It’s a dramatic, silly, glitter-covered world sometimes held together with crazy glue, but that’s part of the magic,” continues co-creator Makayla Moore.
