North Carolina singer-songwriter Andrew X is getting ready to release his second album Young Hearts in 2022. Young Hearts features a collection of songs, that are bright, fun, and have a throwback retro rock vibe to the late 1980’s/early 1990s and pay homage to albums and artists from that era such as Tom Petty, Eddie Money, and The Outfield. The material for Young Hearts was written when Andrew X was in his late 20’s and was written about what it means to be young, have fun, and be involved in romantic relationships. The album was produced by RIAA Certified Gold producer Matt Goldman (Copeland, Underoath) and mastered by Brian “Big Bass” Gardner (David Bowie, Linkin Park.). The album is intended to be lighthearted and fun, and to allow the listener to have songs they can enjoy while hanging with their friends, thinking of their special someone, or going through a tough time.

When asked about the inspiration behind the second album release Young Hearts Andrew X said, “There are plenty of voices in the world we are currently living in that are telling us we should be worried, concerned, or outright scared or angry. My goal for the Young Hearts album is for it to be a voice of hope, love, and joy. Life can be fun, and you can be happy if you choose to be. We are what we do and what we focus our minds on. My hope is that Young Hearts can be a soundtrack for those who are in love, having fun, overcoming challenges, and focusing on that which is good.”

Andrew X has played hundreds of shows throughout the eastern United States with his band and solo projects over the years. His style is slightly reminiscent of some of rock and roll’s “clean-cut” artists such as Phil Collins, Steve Winwood, John Mayer, and Ed Sheeran, but with a more straight-forward guitar rock sound stemming from his days as a frontman for the bands Hot Vegas and The Air Station that made waves in the 2000’s indie rock scene that launched acts such as Anberlin, Copeland, and Mae. His music has been used on many nationally televised shows such as MTV’s The Real World, MTV’s Road Rules, MTV’s Rivals, The E! Channel’s Keeping Up With The Kardashians, and The E! Channel’s Dash Girls. His songs have received play from several major North Carolina-based FM radio stations, and his old band hot vegas had over 2 million plays on Myspace.com. Outside of music Andrew X enjoys living a healthy lifestyle, art, cycling, boxing, the outdoors, classic movies, spending time with friends and family, and supporting his community of Wilkesboro, NC through volunteer work and serving on local boards in the community. Stay tuned for more updates on the release of Young Hearts.
