Blue Note is bringing its unmistakable late-night glow to London—and it’s arriving with purpose. Located on St Martin’s Lane in Covent Garden, Blue Note London is set to become a vibrant new home for live jazz in the heart of the city, bringing together the best of British jazz, international talent, and the next generation of artists. The club officially opens on the 23rd of September—a date that carries real weight in the jazz world, marking the 100th birthday of John Coltrane, one of the most influential and revered figures in the history of the music.

The new venue will boast two performance spaces. A 250-capacity main room will host two shows nightly at 7 pm and 9:30 pm, while a second room—B-Side—a 100-capacity space scheduled to open later in 2026, will focus on supporting emerging British talent. The club will be open until 1 am Monday to Saturday, and midnight on Sundays—built for Londoners who want their nights to stretch a little further, and their music to hit a little closer.

And Blue Note London is making its opening statement loud and clear. Five-time GRAMMY-winning artist Robert Glasper will headline the club’s grand opening on the 23rd and 24th of the month, before returning for seven further shows in November. More than the opening headliner, Glasper will also serve as a creative ambassador, with his partnership helping to shape the culture and identity of Blue Note London from the very beginning.
“London has been a big supporter in my career from the very beginning, and I’ve always had so much respect for the musical culture of the UK past and present,” Glasper says. “There is a deep love for music that pushes boundaries, and Blue Note has always been a home for that same spirit. Starting this new club is about creating a space where jazz, R&B, hip-hop, and everything in between can meet, evolve, and surprise people. I’m excited to build something in London that feels intimate, fearless, and alive, a place where artists can take chances and audiences can experience the music up close.”

That “everything in between” isn’t just talk. Upcoming performances and residencies already signal a programme designed to move fluidly across scenes and sounds, with names including Erykah Badu—the Queen of Neo-Soul and five-time GRAMMY winner—alongside Jamie Cullum, Nubya Garcia, Yussef Dayes, afrobeat collective KOKOROKO, East London singer and rapper Hak Baker, and more.But Blue Note London isn’t positioning itself as only a stage. It’s building a full experience around the performance—starting with the food. A contemporary dinner menu will run throughout the week, bringing international comfort food with a British flair: elevated interpretations of jazz club favourites alongside dishes inspired by Britain’s seasonal ingredients and London’s diverse culinary influences. It’s designed to complement the music rather than compete with it—warm, thoughtful, and rooted in hospitality.
At the bar, the same attention to detail continues. Expect an exceptional cocktail menu blending classic technique with a modern twist—signature cocktails alongside timeless favourites—supported by thoughtfully selected wines and premium spirits. A bar programme that reflects the same artistry and precision found on stage each night.

Visually, the venue has been designed by Julien Legeard of international design firm Legeard Studio, with a clear intention: to bring artists and audiences closer than ever before. The club combines contemporary design with timeless intimacy—rich blue interiors, elegant drapery, bespoke lighting, curated jazz photography, and the iconic Blue Note plaque tables synonymous with the brand. Every detail, from sightlines to lighting and acoustics, has been carefully considered to create an immersive environment where every seat feels connected to the stage, making each performance personal, immediate, and unforgettable.
