The fiercely independent Woodstock Film Festival (WFF) has the full lineup of films and programming for its 23rd Anniversary, between September 28 – October 2nd this year. The films will be presented at venues throughout the bucolic Hudson Valley towns of Woodstock, Kingston, Rosendale, Saugerties, and online.

This year’s five-day festival is made up of 48 exceptional feature films as well as 98 impressive shorts. WFF has always strongly supported local film production in the Hudson Valley, with 5 of the feature films in this year’s program filmed primarily in the region. Additional highlights include intimate filmmaker panel discussions with prominent industry figures. True to Woodstock’s rich musical tradition, the festival features six full-length music films, twelve cutting-edge music videos, and a live performance at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock, NY. The festival also features a series of films created by exceptional women directors, and inspiring films exploring the LGBTQIA+ experience.

This is the first year that short films that win at The Woodstock Film Festival in the categories of Best Short Narrative, Best Animated Short, and Best Short Documentary will automatically be eligible to be nominated for an Academy Award® in their respective categories. Hailed as a “True American Maverick Among Festivals,” and named among the top 50 film festivals worldwide, WFF continues its tradition of hosting the most talented, emerging, and outstanding film professionals in the industry.

Discussing the festival, Meira Blaustein, Woodstock Film Festival Co-Founder & Executive Director said, “As we get ready to welcome hundreds of outstanding filmmakers and members of the film industry to this year’s Woodstock Film Festival, I’m reminded yet again what a privilege it is to host so many bold and talented visual storytellers, supporting and amplifying their work while connecting them with each other and with an engaged and savvy audience.”
