“Burn It Down,” is a vibrant country anthem that exemplifies the bittersweet feelings of realizing you’ve outgrown the person you love. This song takes the listener through the beginning to the end of a relationship and the long-awaited unchained feelings that come after the pain of moving on from that person. Holding on can hurt more than letting go when you’re the only one holding the line. As the chorus echo’s, “Burn it down, burn the memories, better you than me,” we learn that sometimes not only do we have to break the person we loves heart, but our own heart as well in order to truly let go of them and grow into who we’re meant to be. Rooted in the country sound, you can hear influences of pop and heartland rock mixed into this record.
