Country/Pop artist Abigail Neilson releases her next single entitled, “Burn It Down” today. For Country/Pop artist Abigail Neilson, the heart and soul of music is rooted in its ability to connect with others on a deeper level, and coincidentally, the Seattle-based artist has a lot to get off her chest. Thematically, her honest and captivating ballads cover the spectrum of human emotion — everything from the joy of falling in love, to the agony of heartbreak and the strength of female empowerment.

“Burn It Down,” is a vibrant country anthem that exemplifies the bittersweet feelings of realizing you’ve outgrown the person you love. This song takes the listener through the beginning to the end of a relationship and the long-awaited unchained feelings that come after the pain of moving on from that person. Holding on can hurt more than letting go when you’re the only one holding the line. As the chorus echo’s, “Burn it down, burn the memories, better you than me,” we learn that sometimes not only do we have to break the person we loves heart, but our own heart as well in order to truly let go of them and grow into who we’re meant to be. Rooted in the country sound, you can hear influences of pop and heartland rock mixed into this record.

“Burn It Down” was self-written by Abigail Neilson. The track was produced in Nashville, Tennessee by Robbie Artress who has worked with artists such as Chris Stapleton, Ben Folds, and Randy Rogers Band. Instrumental tracking was done by brothers Gideon and Gabe Klein, as well as Ellen Angelico, who have all played with artists such as Tenille Townes, Delta Rae, and Lauren Jenkins.
