Jeff Bosley

Jeff Bosley is a Colorado native, who was born to take on challenges. A successful athlete during his high school years, Jeff excelled at soccer and tried additional supports, such as martial arts, SCUBA diving, rodeo/steer wrestling, and football. When he attended college, his focus was primarily on medicine and health. However, he developed a love of acting grew and he turned his focus and studies towards acting and performed in years worth of theatre productions. But then came 9/11 and wanted to serve his country. He joined the United States Army and become a Special Forces Green Beret Medic. Despite staggering odds against success, he did exactly as he determined he would do.

Currently, Jeff is acting and producing several movies between Denver and Los Angeles. As with everything in his life, he sees this as another great unending adventure, not work. We had the wonderful opportunity to interview Jeff to discuss his work. Check out the interview below.

Jeff Bosley Green BeretHi, Jeff! Thank you for granting the interview. What a colorful career you’ve had and you continue to soar! We’re excited to speak with you about your latest projects. Tell us about your role and character in “Take Point.” with Kevin Durand, 2018 by Perfect Storm Films.

Hi! Thank you for such kind words!

‘Take Point’ is a great film with a great and very relevant story. It’s set on the brink of WWIII and I play Dimitri in an ensemble- like cast. Our team is charged with crossing over a demilitarized zone to capture a high-value target. Things go kind of south and chaos ensue. And like you said, I get to work with Kevin Durand which is honestly shocking since I’ve spent a big chunk of my film-loving life in awe and respect of his career. He’s a great actor and I’m honored to now say a great friend.

What should the audience expect to see?

The audience should expect to see some very relevant topics addressed in this fictional movie. Despite its fictional entertainment, it has some very thought-provoking themes that will certainly make the audience ponder. However, they should also expect to see some good old-fashioned action that seems non-stop. People will feel our characters’ fight to survive. They will feel our exhaustion and our desperation to stay alive. Just be prepared for the ending.

What would people be surprised to learn about your character?

I’m Russian. Well, my character is. I had to hire a dialect coach before leaving for South Korea (where we filmed for months and months).

You’re also appearing in the film “Backseat,” with Adam McKay and Christian Bale in 2018 by Annapurna Pictures/Gary Sanchez Productions/Plan B Entertainment.

Yeah! Holy crap! The little kid in me was in shock to share air and conversations on set and at the monitors with the likes of Christian Bale, Adam McKay, and even Brad Pitt. It was surreal. I loved my time on that film. The cast was huge! Everywhere I turned was a moment of “Hey! That’s ___ !” I had a blast and learned so much. I love seeing major, major films being so collaborative and so welcoming.

As you know, “Call of Duty” is a hot video game! You’re appearing in “Call of Duty: Black Ops 4” in 2018 by Activision. Did you ever play the video game?

Ironically, I’m part of a weekly group of stuntmen that gather and play one of the original ‘Call of Duty’ games. It was hilarious to tell them of my involvement.

Did your training as an Army Green Beret help you with the role?

Any role with a gun or action or weapons or military anything is always enhanced by my time as a Green Beret. It is an authenticity that can’t be acted. I love the fact I’ve trained in the art of acting and that these types of roles are super-enhanced by my past life. This combo really helps me achieve a deep, three-dimensional character.

Further, you appeared in “The Con is On,” with Uma Thurman released by Autumn Productions. Tell us more.

Uh…just wow!!! My first day was chaotic and busy and no time for introductions or rehearsals. I was rushed to the set, put in front of her, introduced and they started recording the scene moments later. We had to be very flirtatious and in each other’s face with quite a bit of seduction. Now I’ll say I’m a professional and that I kept my cool and performed the role as best as I could, but inside I was thinking “I’M ACTING IN A ROLE THAT FLIRTS WITH UMA THURMAN!!!!!!!”. After the shooting days continued things were just like any other set. She was so very kind and polite and offered up her filmmaking wisdom here and there where she felt I needed it. The icing on the cake was when she initiated, and led, the “That’s a wrap on Jeff Bosley” traditional cast/crew applause. I was speechless. Such a wonderful experience.

Jeff Bosley SEAL TeamIn your opinion, what makes a great movie?

A great movie is one that provides the audience an escape. It gives the audience members hope, entertainment, closure…whatever they may need at that moment in their life. Movies provide an artistic escape for any reason and that reason is specific to that moment in that one person’s life.

What is your favorite movie line (quote) and why?

Wow. Great question!!! I’d have to say the tagline on the Rocky poster: “His whole life was a million-to-one shot.” It just summarizes the dream of being successful in Hollywood. So much is out of my control. I can put in 200% effort and get 0% in return. It takes every ounce of my being to remember my ‘why’ and that motivates me to fight, no matter what, at all costs.

Do you have anything else you would like to share about your career?

I love the career I’ve had and daily pray and visualize for more and more to experience and offer. I love that my “boss” is the audience and that I am fortunate enough to love a career that so many people benefit from. I always remember the kid I was who grew up in awe of movies. A kid who was humored or motivated or inspired by the moving images he saw on TV. If I can provide the same awe to anyone of any age with my career and my performances I know I’ve accomplished a step towards that dream.
