Marcus’s career is soaring. What an amazing actor and guy. Check out the interview below.

Hi, Marcus! Thank you for granting the interview. Your career is soaring and we’re excited to speak with you about it. You recently appeared in the mega hot “Den of Thieves.” Tell us about your role and character.

I played the character, Marcus Rhodes, a highly trained former U.S. Marine who turned to a life of crime. He teamed up with his former Marine buddies and began robbing banks. My buddies included the great group of actors, Curtis 50cent Jackson, Pablo Schreiber, O’Shea Jackson, and Evan Jones.

What should the audience expect to see?

A high stakes chess game of life and death as this clever team of bank robbers tries to avoid capture, death, or imprisonment. They are being skillfully tracked by a major crimes unit lead by non-other than Gerard Butler.

To date, what has been your favorite role and why?

I have really enjoyed my work with Easter Sky theatre company which combines my love for acting and my faith. Hanging with the Boys on the “Den of Thieves” set wasn’t too shabby either. ?

Is there a particular role you would like to play in your career?

I would love to do a period piece that would take place on some battlefield. I could play a warrior and swing a sword, an axe, or shoot a bow. I enjoy roles that include a physical element and challenge me.

How do you prepare for a role?

I research the history and do a very detailed background on my character. I come up with the family origin of the character, the likes, and dislikes, emotional triggers, wins and losses, tragedies and triumphs. After I have a good feel for that I read the lines over and over until they become the true emotions that connect me to my character.

What was your first acting job?

My first acting job was about 18 years ago. It was a movie of the week where I had a role in a film called “The Expendables”.

What is your profession’s greatest challenge today?

The continued pursuit of keeping the public entertained in a world facing so many REAL problems.

Who or what is your biggest inspiration?

Perseverance and faith are my biggest inspiration. People kept telling me to give up, but I kept moving forward. As the leader of my family, it was very difficult to watch my family and loved ones go without for so many years, but I was determined to stay in the fight and never give up.  Running my race, keeping my faith and knowing that I will finish strong have brought me where I am today.

When looking back on your career, what resonated with you the most and why?

Knowing deep within that I was doing what I was created to do. I believe we are all on this earth for a reason and I am fulfilling my destiny.

In your opinion, what makes a great movie?

Redemption stories are my favorite. When faced with insurmountable odds, those characters who stay true to the good in life, weather the storm, and eventually see the victory are my favorite to portray.

Tell us about CHLA.

I am a monthly donor to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles which is one of my favorite charities. To give HOPE to those little ones fighting for their very lives inspires me.

Never give up little warriors. ?

Do you have anything else you would like to share about your career?

I believe my best is yet to come. It is my hope that I can truly be a blessing to this Industry for years to come.

Thank you ALL for believing with me.
