Hello, Cheryl! It’s great to speak with you, again! We always admired your skills as an actress. We see that your portfolio growing. Let’s talk about your film, “Expendead.” You also star in the film and have writer’s and director’s credit. Tell us more.
Ok, “Expendead” is my 1st casting online movie which is a short movie showing the actors skills in martial arts. It will be out in September this year and it will be screened in Nottingham.
What inspired the story?
I was inspired by my absolute favorite actor of all time Mr. Tom Cruise, as he always does his own stunts and he is very passionate about movies as I am. Also, I love “Karate Kid.” A mix of those ideas came to mind. And here I have my acting and directing debut in “Expendead.”
What should the audience expect?
I think the online audience and the cinema audience will expect the thrills of martial arts, the courage of the actors doing their hobbies, and to see actors portray their skills for other movies.
Let’s talk “Zombies Attack.” Tell us more.
At the moment, “Zombies Attack” is in the pipeline, but will be needing funding to get it off the ground.
What inspired the story?
One word, “Shaun Of The Dead” and another favorite actor of mine, Simon Pegg. I think he is a brilliant actor and to put up and work with Tom Cruise is just amazing.
What do you love most about being an indie filmmaker?
The one thing I love about being a filmmaker is to come up with ideas that inspire me from other filmmakers and to put my twist on them. And also I love to see and hear from actors who would love to be involved and make them happy.
What types of stories do you like to tell?
I’m an all-rounder, really. I love action movies, romance, and a little bit of thriller. That is why I love ALL of Tom Cruise movies as he “is” the action movie star of all-time. But action is my favorite story.
Why is it important for actors to branch out and expand their portfolio?
I think it is important for actors to expand their portfolio because it gives other directors and producers to search for you and put you forward to more movies.
Are there any projects you would like to add that we haven’t mentioned?
I have also made another short online movie called “Wedding Getaway.” You can find it on YouTube. It’s about a girl who is confused as to what to do when she is backed into a corner and her friend has left her.
