We just loved this interview with Savannah! She shared some awesome news about her music and more. Check out her interview below.

Hi, Savannah! Thank you for granting the interview. Your music is amazing and we’re excited to speak with you about. What can you tell listeners about your latest single “Last Tear?”

Last Tears was a new sound to me at the time. I had always done more pop-centered records, but I wanted to try something a little different. It has many alternative aspects to it and really delivers a new edge to my style. It’s one of my favorite songs of mine!

Tell us what inspired “Last Tears?”

As with most music, love inspired this song. I wanted to convey a failed relationship that wasn’t going to bring me down anymore. Breakups can be sad, but I can pick myself back up and be stronger than before. It’s one of those “Before He Cheats” by Carrie Underwood-like anthems that you can just rock out to.

You recently went on a “Teen Nation Tour.” You performed at middle schools around San Antonio, Texas. Tell us what inspired the tour.

The Teen Nation Tour was very special to me and very close to my heart because it was an anti-bullying tour. I have been bullied all my life and I wanted to share my experiences and struggles with other kids. It helped them know that they weren’t alone and that I could relate to what they might be going through. Meeting all the kids and performing for them was an absolute blast! I went to San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas and has the greatest time on tour!

Tell us about your songwriting process. How do you choose a topic to sing about?

I normally write about whatever is going on in my life at the time, or whatever is on my mind. Whether that be love, experiences, things going on in the world, or even a picture I saw on Instagram, I get inspired all the time.

What has been your biggest challenge as a singer?

The biggest challenge I’ve faced as a singer has definitely been the negativity. There has been a constant barrage of haters and trolls, ranging from people on the internet, to even people I know. I’ve had to develop a very thick skin and really focus on what I want and what makes me happy!

What’s the ultimate direction of your music?

Right now, I’m working on a bunch of records that are very different styles than what I’ve put out in the past. I’m very excited for them to be released. Also, I hope to continue to delve deeper into songwriting and making meaningful songs that people can not only enjoy but can also relate to.

How can fans-to-be gain access to your music?

My music is available on all digital stores and streaming platforms. iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, Spotify, Pandora, the list goes on! Just search Savvy G on your favorite platform.

What are their musical icons/influences?

I have many different icons and influences. I love Bruno Mars, Shawn Mendes, Ariana Grande, Jon Bellion, Blackbear, Linkin Park, The 1975, and Ed Sheeran. I could go on and on about all the artists that I look up to, but I really love those.

When looking back on the production of your music, what resonated with you the most and why?

I think the ability to openly express what I’m feeling really resonates with me anytime I’m writing a song. I think it’s the coolest thing to be able to write about what is going through my mind, what I’m feeling, or what I’m thinking at the time.

In your opinion, how could a singer make an impact on the world?

I think musicians and artists have so much power and voice in the world. We’re able to talk about things, relate to people, and even bring them together. There are many languages in the world, but I think music is a language we all speak.

If you had to do it all over again, would you still choose this career? Would you do anything differently?

I would 100% choose this career. I cannot imagine myself doing anything else in my life. I’m actually very happy to be where I’m currently at, however, I would have told myself back in the day to really work through my stage fright. Growing up shy, I had to mentally get over my nerves before a performance. It took me a while when I was around 12-14 to fully move past it. Stage fright is a very real thing and I feel for anybody who is going through it!

Do you have anything else you would like to share about the music?

I’m very excited for all that is on the horizon and everything that I’m working on. I hope that anybody who supports me is as well! A big shout out to my supporters who are my best friends and the kindest people I know. Hope to see you guys out on the road very soon!
